This place is not a authentic Mexican food. But I do admire other cultures.Making mexican cuisine. There's 2. Sides of the coin one you could be upset if you're native to this culture and say how dare they make mexican food and they're not mexican. Or you could say wow what an honor they love our food so much.Another culture is willing to make dishes that are.Very similar and close to our cuisine. So instead of criticizing I say I enjoyed a dish..

Found this Mexican spot that brings flavor and aesthetic to you. I had: 1. Half rotisserie chicken 2. Fajitas - steak & mahi mahi & salmon
Lovely place and the woman who I think owns it is very sweet. We used a grouping we got and will definitely come back. I ordered the steak fajitas with pinto beans amazing! My daughter has the cheese quesadilla which she enjoyed. My husband got the Kobe bowl and he can't wait to go back. We came as soon as it opened a 11am today so was quiet which was what we wanted. I plan to try the Mexican salad and tiger shrimp bowl next time!
Local Mexican restaurant located near the beach. Their grilled chicken is pretty good. We ordered the grilled Tiger shrimp, California burrito, shrimp and salmon tacos, grilled chicken salad. Service is very friendly. Each plate is around $15 pretty affordable.
Are you an LA Laker fan? Well, come check out this cool little place that Kobe Bryant and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar used to frequent. Located in the city of Newport/Corona Del Mar, in the same parking area as Mother's and CVS, is this little cozy healthy Mexican Restaurant. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and there's a tribute to Kobe. Onto the food! Kobe Bowl - this was a dish that Kobe Bryant worked with the chefs to create. It has their rotisserie Chicken, steak, rice, beans, lettuce, and a little bit of pico. This dish is satisfying, filling, and bursting with flavor. We mixed it up so that it's easier to get a forkful of everything. Definitely amazing if you're wanting to sit down and eat or take it to go! The Mahi Mahi plate was amazing! The fish was seasoned beautifully and was flaky. Got it with Corn tortillas and black beans. It's definitelyβ a worthwhile dish! The Chile Relleno with Steak - I'm used to the typical fried versions. This one hits different, but in a good way. Stuffed with vegetables cheese, and steak if you choose. There was some spice that hit so well when I bit into it. Then there was some zucchini and squash and fajita veggies it was seasoned beautifully and went so well. It was amazing! Rotisserie Chicken - This....this is where the money maker is. Sorry Costco, I love you, but this is now my favorite rotisserie chicken. As soon as that chicken hits your tongue, it's just a burst of flavor. I almost had a Shokigei no Soma moment (if you know, you know). You may think it's burnt, but nah, it's perfectly juicy inside, the flavors of the seasoning/marinade goes all the way down the chicken. I had to buy a whole one to go after devouring the half chicken. All of the salsas and guac you can tell it was made in house. They're a perfect complement to any dish here. So if you're visiting Newport, please check this place out. If anything at least for the rotisserie chicken!
We had lunch here on Saturday. There is parking available, but it can be packed. The restaurant is clean, bright, and welcoming. The legendary Kobe Bryant ate here quite often and worked with the chefs to create the Kobe Ball bowl. It is a combination of shredded rotisserie chicken, carne asada, rice, and fresh mixed vegetables. A delicious and healthy must-have item. We also got the Mahi Mahi fajitas. Grilled to perfection fish with black beans, rice, grilled vegetables, and tortillas. Another great healthy option. The chili rellano with steak was massive. It was delicious and a little spicy. Finally, we got half a rotisserie chicken. The most tender and flavorful chicken ever. We each got a whole chicken to take home. An easy must-have item. Great food, wonderful ambiance and friendly service will make this your go-to Mexican restaurant.
La Fogata Mexican Restaurant is hands down one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere that sets the tone for a fantastic meal. The food is exceptional. So rich in flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Every dish feels authentic and thoughtfully prepared. Don't miss their margaritas! The service was also top-notch. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making your experience a great one. It's clear the staff takes pride in what they do. Whether you're going out for a casual dinner, celebrating a special occasion, or just craving incredible Mexican food, La Fogata delivers every time. Highly recommended!! Weβll definitely be back!
Went to this place on our way to Laguna beach and my friend and I ordered the chicken kabob plate and it was so delicious! Came with tortillas, rice, beans, and grilled veggies with the chicken. We made tacos with all of it! And the salsa was good. This place is now in my rotation of favorite food spots
